The Art of Deep Connection

Move past surface-level small talk using the power of curious questions
We often find ourselves stuck in the shallow end of the pool during our mission. Our neighbors and friends are desperate to be truly known, yet we frequently settle for safe topics like sports or the weather. We need to move beyond these surface-level interactions to reach the heart.
Connection requires us to create an environment where people feel safe and unjudged. Most people are carrying burdens or passions that they long to share with someone who actually cares. When we cultivate a godly curiosity, we offer a rare gift in a world that is increasingly lonely.
Moving deeper does not mean we have to be intrusive or awkward. We can learn to use simple questions to invite others into a more meaningful dialogue. By following the example of Jesus, we become better listeners who value the person in front of us more than our own agendas. Your goal should always be to simply love the person in front of you like the Lord does.
