Big miracles don’t always require long prayers
Greetings from Aotearoa!
We’re currently on the ground in New Zealand, moving between Tauranga, Dunedin, and Christchurch to equip and train local leaders. But amidst the busy schedule of conferences and gatherings, we had a chance to revisit a story that reminds us why we do what we do.
Three years ago in Wellington, we were asked to pray for a two-year-old boy born with a significant hole in his skull. The condition was serious enough that he required a special helmet and constant medical supervision. The prayer wasn't long or complex - more a quick, faith-filled moment with a squirmy toddler!
When the boy returned for his next check-up, the specialist was stunned. The hole had completely vanished, leaving only a slight indent where the gap had been. The doctor said there was no medical explanation for how the skull had reformed; it was simply beyond what science expected.
Fast forward to this week: we met with the boy’s father and confirmed that, three years later, the child remains completely healthy and whole.

Next Steps
Whatever impossible situation you are facing this week, keep pursuing God’s intervention —like this little boy’s parents did.
Don't assume the size of the request dictates the length of the prayer. Bring it to Him with expectant faith.
Take risks: Alex admits he had never prayed for a skull to be healed before. Growth happens when we are willing to step into the unknown and see what God might do.

And please do be praying for us, with all the many leaders and churches we’ll be speaking to and into. Alex has had some post-radiation issues in the past weeks (including a non-cancerous growth on his vocal cord), so energy and strength are lower than normal.
With love,
Alex + Hannah
