Resources Worth Investigating

WELCOME to Issue #288 of The Seedhead from Alex and Hannah at Dandelion Resourcing
- a weekly confidence booster to help you step into naturally supernatural discipleship and mission!

Things that we’re finding interesting or useful - and you might too!

Welcome to the April edition of our occasional series, where we share resources that we’re finding useful. Some will have wide appeal, some will be more specialized, and some you’ll shake your head and smile at our strange interests!

BOOK: 7 Practices of Disciple Making Churches: New Research on What Works in North America - Bobby Harrington

7 Practices of A Disciple Making Churches is a wise and timely call to action that replaces complicated strategies with the simple, reproducible methods modeled by Jesus himself. Our friend Bobby provides the strategic clarity and spiritual depth needed to align leadership teams around a singular, powerful focus on making disciples who make disciples - creating an insightful, challenging, and deeply encouraging work.

NEWS SOURCE: Straight Arrow News

At a time of war, global unrest, and extreme political partisanship, it’s vital to find news sources that distinguish between news and commentary, and allow perspectives from both left and right to be heard.

One free site that we’ve found useful is Straight Arrow News. Their tag line is ‘Unbiased straight facts’.

One prominent feature is the posting of stories with a label of ‘Left media miss’ or ‘Right media miss’, which strikes a good balance for whatever your usual diet might be. It’s important to read both sides!

MUSIC: Resurrection Song by U2

Here’s a great new song from U2 - “Resurrection Song”. Lovely video too! I’ve shared it with a number of my not-yet-Christian friends.

Tea of the Month

Alongside chilling out to the ambient nature sounds, you also need a nice, relaxing cup of tea! As many of our readers are unfamiliar with where to start, we’re here to help.

This month’s tea recommendation is a delicious Darjeeling from India. Known as the champagne of teas, Darjeeling is a gentle black tea that, when brewed, produces a light, tasty, smooth drink, making it a less sharp taste when compared to many black teas.

This is the one we’re currently drinking, which balances taste with budget (first flush Darjeeling - meaning the first pickings of the season from the very tips of the tea leaf - can be extremely expensive).

WEBSITE: Logos Bible Software

We use Logos Bible Software as one of our tools for Bible study and talk preparation. It’s a great resource to have in your armory.

However, it is a significant investment to make it work well. To help you test it out, Logos is offering a FREE 60-day trial to any of our readers.

This is great software, which we use and happily recommend, so this might be the time to test it out.

Next Steps

  1. Which of these resources are you going to investigate?

  2. Is there another resource you already know about that you need to start using?

Let us know what you find useful from this list - and if you have recommendations for future posts like this.

With love,
