Jesus Reigns

Jesus’ active kingly rule is advancing in this world, and all believers are called to join Him in that great task.

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭9‬-‭10‬)

Jesus is repeatedly revealed as being not just the Savior, but also the King of all creation. He is ruling and will rule for all eternity. One day all opposition will cease, and then “at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth” (‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬).

Jesus' rule and reign are kind, just, loving, and have total authority in any and every situation. However, Scripture is also clear that the fullness of this eternal reign is not yet fully present, and so we find ourselves today caught up in both the now and the not yet of the Kingdom of God.

To help us understand this vital principle, Jesus’ #1 teaching topic was the Kingdom of God. He healed the sick and taught about the Kingdom. He drove out demons and taught about the Kingdom. He drew lost people back to their Heavenly Father and taught about the Kingdom.

In this video, we share some principles on how to live in the overlap of these two worlds.

Next Steps

  1. Where do you operate from: Kingdom now or Kingdom not yet? Which do you revert to?

  2. What’s one step you can take to make it more balanced?

  3. Watch session 4 “Jesus Reigns” of The Spirit Empowered Disciple Course - Church Track (spiritcourse.com). We give you a diagram to help explain the Kingdom of God, biblical principles, and practical outworkings for living in the tension of the now and not yet.

With love,
