God is our healer. Jesus modeled this on a vast number of occasions, and now the Spirit empowers us
to heal the sick today.
“Jesus gave the disciples power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases and he sent them out to proclaim the Kingdom of God and to heal the sick.” (Luke 9:1-2)
Throughout Scripture, we encounter God as the One who forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases. This came to the forefront in the public ministry of Jesus, where countless people experienced healing from physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual conditions at His hands.
Even more remarkably, the Spirit empowers all believers to carry on this ministry of healing, acting as a signpost to the coming Kingdom to which we all look forward.
Healing is not intended to be an exceptional moment, but something that is normal and normative for all believers.
