Praying for Someone in Raw Grief

WELCOME to Issue #242 of The Seedhead from Alex and Hannah at Dandelion Resourcing - a weekly confidence booster to help you step into naturally supernatural discipleship and mission!

How to gently bring them into the presence of Jesus

  • How do you minister to someone in the raw early stages of grief?

  • Is there a way to care for them in the power of the Spirit without causing more pain?

  • How do we help them encounter the healing presence of Jesus?

Recently I had the opportunity to pray with someone who is in the early stages of grief, having recently lost their mother.

If you’ve been in such a situation, you’ll know how fraught it can be. The person you are with is vulnerable, in pain, and you absolutely feel the importance of being pastorally kind and sensitive.

So how do you pray?

Here’s the video:

Next Steps

  1. What lessons do you take from this video?

  2. What would you do if you found yourself in such a prayer situation? Take a moment to think through how you might handle things.

The presence of Jesus is a healing balm to a hurting soul. Let’s be brave enough to usher people towards Him, particularly in the rawness of fresh grief.

With love,

Alex + Hannah
